How Much Does a Pattaya Trip Cost?
Pattaya is one of those rare places that works on almost any budget — you can do it on hostel-and-street-food terms or sea-view-suite terms and have a great time either way. The trick is knowing roughly what each style costs so you can plan, not guess. Here are the 2026 numbers.

Where the money actually goes
Across all three styles, accommodation and food are the two biggest lines. Hostel beds start around ฿500 a night, 3-star hotels sit near ฿1,100, and premium rooms in high season can run ฿8,000–15,000. Food is wonderfully flexible — a great street meal is ฿60–100, while a Western restaurant dinner is ฿250 and up. Local transport is cheap: baht buses are ฿10–20 a ride, and a rented scooter is ฿250–350 a day.
A worked example
A 7-day mid-range trip for two, nightlife included, lands around ฿90,000 (~$2,600) before flights — roughly ฿6,500 a day for the pair, or ฿3,250 each. Drop to backpacker style and the same week is closer to ฿43,000; go luxury and it's ฿188,000+.

Easy ways to spend less
- Travel in the green season (June–October) for the cheapest rooms.
- Stay a few streets back from the beach — same city, lower rates.
- Eat where Thai families eat; it's better and a fraction of the price.
- Use baht buses for short hops instead of metered taxis.
- Book hotels with free breakfast to remove one daily cost.
